United Minds for Progress had recently provided a grant to Children's Science Center in support of The Lab Campaign, a full-scale museum which will inspire STEM (science, engineering, technology, and mathematics) learning for all children, particularly reaching economically disadvantaged youth, girls and other groups underrepresented in STEM. The purpose of the donation is to help this vision into a reality for all families and educators in Northern Virginia area.

The Children’s Science Center is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization dedicated to filling the gap in the area with a permanent, world-class interactive exploration center that incorporates traditional museum exhibits with cutting edge discovery experiences.Their mission is to create a world class children’s science museum.They emphasizes open-ended, child-directed, inquiry-based activities in which there are infinite ways to create, explore, and be inspired.
